If you are ever in the area, it is a must to stop in and see this small quaint bakery. Owner makes all pastries and breads herself. It has a old nostalgic look and feel, just like the town. Pastries were delicious, cinnamon roll!!

After a couple attempts at catching this little bakery during its hours of operation, we finally succeeded. We were rewarded with one single loaf of white bread left on the rack, a depleted display case showing the remaining espresso brownies, and one or two lonely sweets. I realize this is intentional to get rid of as much as possible before baking fresh for the new day, it just looks a little depressing to latecomers. The shop itself was small and a funky old fashioned bread oven was front and center behind the counter. Although we did not see the back rooms, there must be some additional space somewhere for mixing, rolling, etc. Coming in from the cold, the warmth and delicious smells of baked goods was very welcoming. To help us with our questions (not too many because there wasn't much left), there was one rather quite shopkeep. Not necessarily unfriendly, just not nearly as warm and friendly as the shop itself was. She would answer my question without any elaboration or small talk and then stare blankly at me in expectation to make a purchase or leave. With such little product to choose from, we took the loaf of white bread. It was about the size of a cantaloupe and had a nice crusty look to it. This was a very dense, sweet bread. It reminded me of Hawaiian sweet bread, with about four times the body. It was pretty good just straight from the bag, torn off in palm sized pieces and snacked upon while driving back home. My only real complaint would be that the $5.00 price tag for a cantaloupe sized loaf was a little high. Unfortunately my schedule does not match up well with frequent return trips, but I would like to catch an early morning here and see what their real selections are.

I wouldn't eat an Apricot Swirl in here. Ok, I lied kinda. I seldom eat "one". Consistantly GREAT.

We stumbled onto this place when passing through Baker City, trying to find something descent to eat for breakfast. We left with two ham and cheese croissants, a ginger oatmeal cookie and a berry coconut bar. All were extremely good. The croissant was the highlight. It was so nice to have a croissant that was crisp on the ends soft in the middle with that flakiness that is so hard to find these days. The price was a little high but the quality made it worth it. I would rather pay more for something made well than a dollar or two less for pre-made, mass produced junk.

A real small town treasure. I hope it stays open. Located in a beautifully renovated building . -Place an order ahead of time for a party, and they'll have it ready to pick up that day. -Every month features a different Brownie of the Month - classics such as scones, chocolate chip cookies, lemon bars and challah bread. Weird limited hours: Closed Sun-Tue Ask about their freezer bread
